What is DHA?
DHA stands for dihydroxyacetone. DHA is a carbohydrate (monosaccharide sugar) compound approved by the FDA for use in externally applied sunless tanning solutions. DHA is often derived from a vegetable source like beets or sugar cane.
How long does a spray tan last?
Typically a spray tan lasts for 5-7 days, But it depends on the person and how often they shower, sweat, and go swimming. There are tan extenders that help extend the life of the tan. These are available for purchase.
Will my spray tan stain my clothes?
The cosmetic tan in the solutions we use at Sunless Sun Tanning will wash off your skin after your first shower. But until then, the cosmetic tan (bronzer) is water soluble and should not stain most fabrics. Most fabrics and materials are completely safe excluding leather, silk, lace, nylon and spandex.
What should I wear during my appointment?
For Female clients you may where what is comfortable for you, from bikini/swimsuit of your choice, only bottoms or nothing at all. Male clients are asked to wear swim trunks or shorts.
Disposable bralette and thongs for women and men shorts are available per request at a minimal fee.
Do I have to do anything after my spray appointment?
Immediately after once you feel dry enough to put on your clothes. We suggest to wear loose clothing to prevent striking the tan then sit back and relax. Avoid getting wet or rained on until fully developed 6-8 hours, unless using rapid dry solution.
I recommend washing your hands and feet 30 minutes after the spray appointment.
Can I book on Saturday or Sunday?
Yes, By Special Request. So please call for appointments availability if you need an appointment on Saturday or Sunday.
